My Hookings from the Thresholds Exhibit
Though rooted in the rich tradition of rug hooking, over time my practice has evolved. Working with hand-cut materials - textiles, plastic, repurposed objects, organic fibres - transforming them into dimensional wall art that challenges the boundaries of the medium to express a broader, more abstract narrative. FOUR pieces in this show cross thresholds of texture, and transformations asking the viewer to find a story in the loops of velvet dresses, bathing suits, onion bags, jersey skirts, cotton curtains, gold lame dress, sari, and pure wool sweaters.
